It aims to promote exercise paths, running tracks, and cycling lanes for Bangkok residents. It stands out with the 1.6-kilometer Skywalk, designed as an accessible ramp suitable for people with disabilities and the elderly. It connects to Lumphini Park and covers a total area of over 450 acres. The park is incredibly beautiful and spacious, filled with various types of plants and plenty of seating areas for relaxation. Besides exercising, many students and young people like to come here to take photos, either alone or with their loved ones. JODD FAIRS DanNeramit, a night market in the heart of the city, has relocated from the side of Central Rama 9 to open right in the area of the old DanNeramit Amusement Park, just 650 meters away from Central Ladprao. It stands out with its newly renovated old-style temple-inspired buildings and has now become a landmark for Bangkok residents. It is situated on approximately 33 acres of land. Inside, it is filled with a wide variety of restaurants, over 1,000 in total. The market is clearly divided into distinct zones, including food, merchandise, and dining areas. There are many excellent and delicious eateries, making it a great place for a food-filled stroll until you’re satisfied. Hungry locals and foreigners alike flock to this place, especially on weekends, making parking difficult. It’s recommended to take the BTS or MRT for convenience.

ICONSIAM

ICONSIAM, a large and contemporary marvel, is beautifully situated by the Chao Phraya River. Inside, it comprises two connected massive shopping complexes, two residential towers, one of which is the tallest building in Thailand, and a mid-sized shopping center linked to a hotel. It’s a place filled with high-end brand stores, coffee shops, top-notch restaurants, and is also a global-level convention center location, featuring True ICON HALL and ICON BAY.

Additionally, on the 6th floor at the Attraction Hall, a first in Thailand, there’s a world-class art exhibition showcasing the largest collection of legendary artists’ works from the East and Southeast Asia, including the likes of Vincent Van Gogh. Renowned relaxation spots in Samut Prakan include Bangpu Recreation Center, which is famous for its abundant migratory seagulls, numbering up to 5,000. These birds gracefully soar through the skies and can be fed by hand. It’s located near the long descending bridge that stretches over 500 meters into the sea. Entry here is free, as it is a recreational area for the army. Additionally, there is a ‘Sukjai Pavilion’ in the vicinity with plenty of shops selling beverages and food. It’s said that from October to May, many seagulls migrate here to escape the cold from Tabebuia. During this period, you can witness a spectacular seagull show, making it one of Bang Poo’s highlights.

Moreover, this place is also considered an excellent spot to enjoy the beautiful sunset. It’s recommended to visit after 4:00 PM when the weather is pleasant and not too hot, allowing you to comfortably admire the sunset.

Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen

This renowned ancient temple is situated along the Chao Phraya River on the Thonburi side. It is located at the confluence of the canal connecting to the main Bangkok river, hence earning the name ‘Wat Paknam Pasri Charoen.’ The temple underwent two major renovations during the reign of King Rama III and King Rama V, while retaining architectural elements reminiscent of the Ayutthaya era. It was left in a state of disrepair until the reign of King Rama VI when Phra Phothisat led the temple and initiated a revival. Ever since, Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen has served as a prominent center for Buddhist practices, and it’s especially famous for the ‘Phra Buddha Dhammakaya Thepmongkol‘ statue. This magnificent Buddha image is a whopping 69 meters high and stands 40 meters wide. Additionally, the temple’s towering spire, adorned with hand-carved images and celestial motifs, graces the fifth level of the majestic pagoda. It’s truly a sight to behold, well worth a visit for personal reverence and admiration.

  • BTS Phlapphla Market Station: Exit the station, walk through Phlapphla Market towards Thetsadi Road until you reach Wat Khud Chan. From there, you will find a footbridge leading to Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen. Alternatively, you can take a songthaew (a type of shared taxi) under the station to reach the temple directly.
  • You can also take a motorcycle taxi from MRT Bang Phai or Bang Wa stations to reach the temple.

This market has its unique charm, and you’ll find some items and food here that you won’t get anywhere else. If you want to get something or eat a specific food, this is the place to be; there’s no comparison. It’s a popular market among Bangkok residents, suitable for people of all ages and backgrounds. You’ll see both locals and foreigners wandering around the market. Across the river, you’ll find the famous Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram (Wat Phra Kaew), a significant temple within the Grand Palace complex. It houses the Emerald Buddha and is a site of many important royal ceremonies. The temple is known for its exquisite beauty and rich cultural and spiritual heritage throughout the area. If you have the chance, it’s advisable to pay your respects at the temple before crossing the river to enjoy Wang Lang Market.

  • Take the BTS to Saphan Taksin Station, then continue by taking an express boat from the Taksin Pier (Sathorn). The boat ride will take you to Wang Lang Pier. The boat journey usually lasts around 25 minutes.

Every year, a grand Nava Ratna (Nine Deities) procession and ceremony are held here, which is a significant event.
